Desktop Support Specialist

Our Client is currently seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join their team at their corporate office located in New York City. This position offers an excellent opportunity in a growth-oriented environment. The company offers competitive salary (base + bonus), medical benefits, and 401k Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support
  • Setting up, repairing and maintaining a wide range of hardware (desktops, laptops printers) and software 
(Windows, MS Office, Bloomberg) and other market data/financial software
  • Participate in a rotating on-call after hours/weekend schedule
  • Work closely with our Systems and Networking teams on system maintenance and projects

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office required
  • Strong desktop and laptop hardware installation skills required; knowledge of MAC OS a plus
  • Strong understanding and experience with mobile devices and tablets
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to learn complex concepts in a fast paced environment and possess a self-started attitude
  • Strong understanding and experience with Active Directory a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is a plus
  • A+, MCP, MCSA and/or MCSE certifications is a plus
  • Previous experience providing desktop support for financial firms a plus
